Mikeladze Choir
The Mikeladze Choir was founded in 2010 by Badri Jimsheleishvili, choir director, and Lamara Taktakishvili, deputy head of the Tbilisi E. Mikeladze Central Music School with support of the school director Gia Korkadze. Choir members sing Georgian traditional folk songs and chants under the choir motto “Singing Makes Perfect”.

The main goal of the choir is to share Georgian culture with foreigners by organizing international tours in different parts of the world, participating in international choral festivals and holding solo concerts abroad. Since the foundation in 2010 the choir has organized several international projects.

Badri Jimsheleishvili
Professional musician, conductor and director of the Mikeladze Choir Badri Jimsheleishvili was born in 1966.
He graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire in 1992 - the department of conducting. In 1983-1995 Badri was composing POP music, he made several recordings. At the same time, he was a composer and a singer in a Georgian POP group “Dream and Reality”. Since 1990 till now Badri has been the director of the Chanters Group of the Church of St. Panteleimon the Healer. He was a member of the Georgian State Choir too in 1992-1994. Later in 2004 Badri was invited to the E. Mikeladze Central Music School as a teacher of Georgian folk songs. In 2010 he formed the choir on the school bases formerly known as the Choir of E. Mikeladze Central Music School. Since then, Badri has been conducting and directing it. After the choir participation in the World Peace Choral Festival in Vienna in 2014 Badri has become the member of the World Peace Choral Festival artistic committee.
